The decision was taken to create a more sustainable immigration system, according to the government.

The price of a visitor visa will increase from NZD211.00 (~R2,315.00) to NZD341.00 (~R3,740). The increase will apply from October 1 and will affect all visa categories, including residence, temporary and student visas as well as tourist visas.
